National Sales Manager – Technical Products & Consumables

If you’ve built your career leading relationship‑led, territory‑based sales teams, particularly supplying technical products or consumables to trade and industrial customers, this is a role worth exploring. The opportunity

  • National leadership role with full responsibility for sales strategy, execution and performance across Australia.
  • Lead a sizable national field sales force, consisting of Regional Sales Managers and a national territory‑based reps in a direct‑selling, route‑based model.
  • Work closely with an experienced executive team that provides strong backing for growth, sales transformation, and capability uplift.
  • Operate in an established but growth‑focused business supplying technical products and consumables used every day by trade and industrial customers, with recurring demand and wide application.

 

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Designing and executing the national sales strategy, including budgets, territory plans and performance metrics.
  • Lifting revenue, margin and EBITDA contribution through disciplined pricing, smart targeting and stronger pipeline management.
  • Building a high‑performance sales culture – coaching Regional Sales Managers, developing leaders and raising capability across the field team.
  • Owning key customer and national account relationships, including major negotiations and growth plans.

 

What you bring

  • Senior sales leadership experience within industrial, trade or B2B distribution environments (e.g. technical products, MRO, industrial consumables or similar).
  • Proven success leading large, geographically dispersed field sales teams in direct‑selling or route‑based models.
  • Strong commercial acumen – confident managing P&L levers, pricing, margin and mix, and reading the story in the numbers.
  • A track record of growing revenue organically while maintaining or improving margin performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lift sales capability: coaching leaders, installing structure and cadence, and managing performance with clarity and fairness.
