About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, this senior role takes ownership of operational, financial, and people performance across multiple NSW branches. You will lead Branch Managers and internal sales teams, oversee compliance and safety, and ensure each site meets profitability, service and team development targets.
You will also contribute to the national strategy while translating business directives into clear operational outcomes. This role suits a commercially savvy leader who thrives on developing teams and delivering operational discipline across a regional footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach multi-site teams, including Branch Managers and internal sales
- Drive achievement of sales, GP and profitability (EBDIT) targets
- Ensure branch compliance with policies, procedures and safety standards
- Manage rosters, payroll efficiency and seasonal workforce planning
- Monitor critical stock KPIs and resolve delays or fulfilment issues
- Support quoting on high-value opportunities and ensure margin accuracy
- Foster a customer-first culture across all branches
- Collaborate with senior leadership, marketing and national sales
- Champion staff development, succession planning and team engagement
- Represent the business across NSW as a senior operational leader
Key Metrics of Success
Meet or exceed budgeted Sales, GP and EBDIT targets across each branch
Maintain direct wages within agreed percentage of sales
Achieve 100% compliance with safety and operational standards
Zero major incidents, breaches or stocktake discrepancies
Strong employee retention and leadership succession planning
Evidence of improved performance, efficiency and customer outcomes
Your Background
βοΈ Multi-site operational leadership experience (ideally in manufacturing, building products or distribution)
βοΈ Strong commercial skills including budgeting, reporting and payroll oversight
βοΈ Confident team leader with proven coaching, performance and retention success
βοΈ Familiarity with inventory systems, warehouse operations and logistics
βοΈ Proficient with ERP/CRM systems (e.g. Sage), Microsoft Office
βοΈ Resilient, self-driven and comfortable working across a fast-paced, hands-on environment
βοΈ Current driverβs licence essential
Preferred: Degree in Business Management and current First Aid Certificate
