About the Role
As the Account Manager – Bunnings Channel, you will lead the strategic and commercial performance of the brand portfolio within your state.
You’ll develop and execute the state business plan, own sales forecasting and trade spend, manage key stakeholder relationships, and ensure best-in-class in-store execution.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role suited to someone comfortable operating with ambiguity and making strong commercial decisions in a competitive category.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Strategic Ownership

Deliver the annual state business plan aligned to national objectives

Own forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting

Analyse sell-through, inventory and category data to identify growth opportunities

Manage promotional strategy and trade-spend ROI
Channel & Stakeholder Leadership

Act as State Lead for all channel matters

Build strong relationships across store, regional and state leadership

Lead training initiatives and drive brand advocacy in-store

Partner internally with Supply Chain, Marketing and Finance
Operational Execution

Ensure planogram, pricing and POS compliance
-
Lead range resets, NPI launches and seasonal activations
-
Implement a structured store visitation program

Resolve supply and operational issues to protect availability
Success Measures

Achievement of state revenue, volume and margin targets

Effective trade-spend management with demonstrable ROI

Strong in-store compliance and availability metrics

Growth in strategic product categories

Depth and quality of stakeholder relationships
Your Background
-
5+ years in a senior sales or account management role
-
Proven experience working with the Bunnings channel (essential)
-
Experience within hardware, consumer durables, FMCG or related sectors

Strong commercial acumen across P&L, forecasting and trade spend
-
Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders
-
Willingness to travel regularly (initially approx. 1 week/month interstate)
Industry experience in outdoor power equipment or adjacent categories (e.g. TTI, EGO, Ozito) is highly regarded but not essential for high-performing candidates from aligned sectors.
