About the Position

As a Senior Sales Manager in Pre-Construction, you will play a crucial role within the Sales/Pre-Construction group, developing client-focused solutions for specialty geo-technical projects. This position is based out of the Melbourne office and offers a unique opportunity to influence major project outcomes by working closely with diverse professional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek and develop new project leads and opportunities through bids and operational projects with both new and existing clients.
  • Thoroughly evaluate bid opportunities by analysing contract documents, participating in pre-bid meetings, and visiting sites.
  • Innovate cost-effective construction strategies and ensure the safe execution of projects.
  • Design detailed project proposals including take-offs, schedules, budgets, and strategic plans for closing proposals.
  • Negotiate and secure contracts with prospective clients, ensuring clear communication and effective contract management.
  • Spearhead business development efforts to build and strengthen client relationships.
  • Create tailored designs to meet specific project requirements and continuously improve processes and product solutions.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of projects to the Operations team following project awards.

Candidate Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields is essential; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable, or substantial design experience with the capability to obtain licensure.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in geo-technical construction, including expertise in Earth Retention, Deep Foundations, and Ground Improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex construction projects from the bidding stage through to execution.
  • Excellent communication skills are critical for success in this role.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet project needs and client expectations.
